Now, you may be asking yourself "What in the hell is a Midnight Turkey?"
Well, it goes a little something like this... I usually wake up around 10 a.m. on thanksgiving day with a really bad hangover (because wednesday before thanksgiving is a BIG drinking night) and I usually nurse my head with a cold beverage, about a dozen ibuprofen, and cigarette... Then I turn the oven on, Stoke up the smoker and start drinking again.... And the festivities begin.
While ya'll are out spending that good ole mandatory "quality time" with the fam, I am slaving on a feast that's so damn good it'll make you go home and slap your mama. And that's what I did all day...

Then after all of our friends are done eating mom's dried out bird and canned cranberry sauce, and dad has drank himself into a football coma, everyone freshens up and drives out to Midnight Turkey, which this year was held at Adaptation....
The Night got started with some good ole ass-shakin', foot stompin', americana music from my band, Mike LaSage and the Stumbling Troubadours. Check 'em out @ www.mikelasage.com and download some of their songs for free...
It was a fun set full of sing along anti-gospel anthems and drunken romantic innuendo....
After the band was done, I made a kick-ass playlist and finished cooking....
From there every one did some drinkin' and minglin'...
And then they did some hearty laughing...
And there were some smoke breaks....
And then at the stroke-o-midnight we had a huge spread of food.... A smoked turkey, a fried turkey, a slow roasted turkey that was so moist it fell into a million little pieces before we could carve it... Some Truffle Mac-n-cheese, oyster andouille dressing, garlic mashed potatoes and more.... Unfortunately we were all waaaaayyyy to drunk to know how to use a camera so the rest of the evening is all coming from the ole noggin.....
All in all there were about 75 people and I don't think anyone could have had a better time... it was fantastic.... So next year, after you are done with the fam time and mom's mediocre cooking, come on down to ADAPTATION and enjoy the festivities....
